Glassford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram was established in 1966 as a Chrysler dealership by Jack and Margaret Glassford in downtown Ingersoll. The dealership served the growing communities of Oxford County during a period when automobile ownership was expanding rapidly.

Hard work and family led Jack from his humble beginnings as an auto technician to a Chrysler District Manager and then to a Chrysler Franchise owner.

After retiring from the CFL in 1982, John Glassford, son of Jack and Marg, joined the dealership and eventually took over Glassford Chrysler. He was later joined in 2016 by his nephew John Millman Jr., and they formed Glassford Auto Group in 2022. The company includes Sarnia Hyundai, Subaru of Sarnia, Glassford Chrysler and FreshAuto.

John Millman Jr. is also no stranger to football as he laced up for the University of Western while obtaining a degree from the Richard Ivery School of Business.

A major milestone came in 1997, when Glassford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram relocated from its downtown site to a purpose-built dealership at 30 Samnah Crescent, adjacent to Highway 401. The move gave the dealership much greater visibility and room for expanded sales and service operations.

The dealership has continued to invest in its facilities over the years with a 2,400-square-foot detailing addition in 2012 and an 8,000-square-foot used car dealership, FreshAuto, as the business continued to grow.

Glassford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is a proud supporter of the community, sponsoring and supporting Rotary, the Chamber of Commerce, Salvation Army, local arenas and sports teams.

“We are thankful for all the great customers and wonderful staff that have supported the business and made 60 years possible. We are looking forward to continuing to be a proud member of the Ingersoll and Oxford County community and a great employer,” said Millman Jr.

The business is holding a community event and sale on Saturday, July 11, with free food, games for kids, and a massive customer appreciation sale on all makes and models.
