Cobourg Stamp Club COPEX show this Saturday

The Cobourg Stamp Club was established in 1960 from a group of armed forces personnel from the base located in Cobourg.
The club is a registered chapter member of the Royal Philatelic Society Canada.
The club held its first show and exhibition in 1970, and the shows have been held annually since, with exception of two years during COVID.
The shows have been known as COPEX and then the year they are taking place – i.e. COPEX 2026.
The first show cover was prepared for the 10th anniversary of the C OPEX shows held on Sept. 15, 1979.
The cover features St. Peter’s Anglican Church for its 160th anniversary in Cobourg where the show was held. The soft-shell turtle stamp (#813) was cancelled with a special slogan cancel promoting the exhibition.
This year, the COPEX show is being held on Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Salvation Army Church at 59 Ballantine St., Cobourg. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Along with the members exhibits, there is a large consignment table and silent auction, and there are eight dealers with a wide assortment of collectable material and supplies. The dealers attending are Nigel Mackey, Mark Kanso, Steve Anderson, Rusty McQuaid, Hugh Anderson, John Bedows, Peter Rainey and Mike Cole.
Club meetings are held every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at the Salvation Army Church from 5:30 to 8 p.m. from March to November, then 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in January and February, and there are no meetings in December and July.
