There was another unrelated incident in Cobourg that also resulted in a local man’s arrest on Sept. 15.
Police said at about 10:45 p.m. officers on general patrol reported observing an individual in the King Street East area in violation of a court-ordered curfew.
During a search incident to arrest, officers allege they found about 2.47 grams of suspected fentanyl and more than $2,900 in Canadian currency.
As a result of the investigation, police said the 57-year-old Cobourg man was charged with failure to comply with a release order, failure to comply with a probation order, possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl, and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
