Cobourg launches new ‘Keepin’ Up in Cobourg’ initiative

By West Northumberland Independent staff
From queries ranging about parking in Cobourg to the source of sediment on the surface of Lake Ontario, the Town of Cobourg is endeavouring to answer these questions and more through a new online resource.
The town’s communications department has announced the launch of “Keepin’ Up in Cobourg,” an Engage Cobourg webpage and digital resource to provide answers to commonly asked questions.
Described as a living document that grows and evolves based on the questions residents are asking, “Keepin’ Up in Cobourg” is designed to be a go-to place for residents to ask questions and find answers about town events, services and current projects.
“The Town of Cobourg is committed to keeping residents informed with clear, accurate and timely information,” reads a press release on the launch.
“Our communications department works closely with customer service and teams across the organization to identify common questions and provide factual answers. By sharing information proactively and creating space for residents to ask questions, the goal is to assist community members to stay informed about the issues that matter to them.”
Residents can learn more at Engagecobourg.ca/keepinup.
People are also invited to submit their questions through the open form on the webpage.
Communications staff will post a new question and answer to the town’s social media channels each week, with the topics archived on the Engage Cobourg page for future reference.
Keepin’ Up in Cobourg’s social media pages are Facebook @TownofCobourg and Instagram @TownofCobourg.
The town encourages residents to create an Engage Cobourg account to follow and participate in
Cobourg’s public engagement projects, along with opting-in to receive newsletter updates.
