Classic cars pay tribute to lifelong enthusiast Bruce Kropf

A procession of classic cars led family and friends through Tavistock to East Zorra Mennonite Church Cemetery on Saturday as they gathered to honour the life of longtime classic-car enthusiast Bruce Kropf.

A professional stonemason and longtime bricklayer, Kropf was known not only for his craftsmanship but also for his passion for restoring and caring for classic automobiles.

To celebrate that lifelong interest, fellow classic-car owners joined Kropf's family in a fitting tribute, accompanying the funeral procession to the cemetery.

Family members said Bruce would have been touched to know so many friends and fellow enthusiasts chose to honour him in a way that reflected one of his greatest passions.

Leading the procession was Bruce's cherished 1970 Pontiac LeMans, the first car he purchased at the age of 19. The vehicle remained a prized possession throughout his life and, according to his family, was never driven during the winter months.

Following the interment at East Zorra Mennonite Church Cemetery, a memorial service was held at Tavistock Mennonite Church, officiated by Pastor Julie Ellison-White.
