City holds final family movie night

Museum Square came alive Thursday night, Aug. 27, as Woodstock residents gathered for the final Movie Night of the season, held in conjunction with the City’s 125th anniversary celebration. The downtown landmark was filled with families, friends, and visitors eager to enjoy an evening of entertainment and community pride. Children were treated to a variety of games and activities throughout the square, keeping the younger crowd energized and engaged as the festivities unfolded. Booths lined the walkways offering browsing opportunities, handcrafted items, and commemorative merchandise for purchase, adding a lively market atmosphere to the celebration. As dusk settled, the crowd turned its attention to The Sandlot, a beloved classic and clear favourite among those in attendance. Laughter, nostalgia, and shared moments rippled through the audience as the film lit up the warm August night. The event not only marked the close of this year’s Movie Night series but also highlighted Woodstock’s enduring spirit as the community honoured 125 years of history, growth, and togetherness. The combination of activities, local vendors, and a cherished film created a memorable evening that reflected the heart of the city.
