Canada Day festivities a hit in the Friendly City

Woodstock’s 125th anniversary Canada Day celebration drew a record setting crowd to Southside Park on July 1, as residents gathered for a full day of music, family activities, and patriotic festivities. While much of southern Ontario faced intense thunderstorms and severe wind gusts, Woodstock avoided the worst of the weather, allowing all daytime programming and evening performances to proceed as planned. Families and festival goers filled the grounds early, exploring vendors, kids’ zones, and community booths before the band took the stage. Canadian rock icon Kim Mitchell headlined the free concert at 8 p.m., delivering classic hits and a spirited. The festivities concluded with a vibrant fireworks display, marking both Canada Day and the city’s 125th anniversary with a spectacular finale. Southside Park once again proved to be the heart of Woodstock’s celebrations, hosting a Canada Day event residents will remember for years to come.
