Cobourg police are calling on residents to slow it down when behind the wheel.

Just last Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, the Cobourg Police Service said officers dished out 13 speeding tickets across town.

In one alleged incident, a stunt charge was also laid when police said they clocked a vehicle on Elgin Street West at 94 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

The driver also had their licence suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.

Following these incidents, police put out a call on social media urging residents to slow down and obey posted speed limits to help keep local roads safe for everyone.
