A “Normal Day” in Germany: Paris couple’s Cold War memory reminds us of peacekeepers’ sacrifice
It was just a normal day for Irwin and Marie Williamson. Of course, what is normal for one person is not normal for another. They grew up and married in Paris, but this day in 1964 they found themselves in Hugelsheim, Germany, a quiet little town situated on the east bank of the Rhine River. Irwin was serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force, and he was transferred to RCAF 4 Wing in Baden-Soellingen, West Germany. A Christmas Encounter
Two Paris boys had a chance encounter in December 1942, while they were both on Christmas leave from their duties during the Second World War. Both were in military service in Britain at the time.

Homes of Heroes receives their first donations
We are immensely grateful for the support received from the Paris firefighters and Peak Realty, enabling the placement of Homes of Heroes signs across town in the weeks leading up to Remembrance Day on November 11. However, to fully realize our vision and cover the expenses associated with installing custom printed signs on the lawns of our heroes, we still require additional donations.
