In the rolling fields of southwestern Ontario, farmers are turning to an age-old ally to boost productivity and protect their land: trees.   Trees work hard to protect soil, water, crops, and even livestock. “Trees are more than just scenery,” says Myles Henderson, Forestry Specialist with the Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA). “When placed correctly, they become part of the farm’s infrastructure.”  There are three practices for tree planting that work well for farmers:
