The Waterford Lions are inviting kids of all ages to join them at their upcoming Touch-A-Truck event on Saturday, June 13. This year it will be held downtown at the Waterford parkette on Alice Street – right beside the Golden Pond. The 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. hands-on family event is a one-of-a-kind experience and one that the kids – young and old – are sure to remember. Not only will there be fire trucks but some ‘big rigs’ used to service their vehicles, assorted trucks, along with farm machinery… big farm machinery.
Best of all it is a free event and nowadays there aren’t too many places where you can take the whole family, have a great time and see some really ‘neat’ vehicles. Bring the kids along and let them ‘run wild and satisfy their curiosity’.
While you’re there you can enjoy a hot dog, cool off with a cold drink and have a freezie. Donations for the refreshments will be accepted, with proceeds going to a local charitable cause. A perfect way to spend an afternoon of family fun while letting your children see closeup the shiny trucks and (with permission) to even touch the vehicles. Our Waterford Lions are a great group of dedicated volunteers who work to provide Waterford with special events while promoting their club and the great things that they offer people – young and old – free events that serve to teach as well as entertain. Be sure to stop by and join them!
