Goderich Oldtimers host 44th annual soccer tournament

An exciting day of soccer was played on June 6 at Bannister Park and the Rotary Soccer Fields in Goderich, while the Goderich Oldtimers hosted for the 44th annual Oldtimers Soccer Tournament.

This year’s champions were the Listowel Ravens, while Huron United of Kincardine earned second place. The Most Sportsmanlike Team award was presented to Stratford High Voltage.

Athletes, their families and supporters gathered at Square Brew following the final game for trophy presentations and a well-deserved social evening.

While supporting local, everyone enjoyed the local beer as well as the food prepared by resident chef, and coach of the Goderich Oldtimers, Panicos Zembashi.

All proceeds from this year’s tournament will go towards a donation by the team to the Goderich District Collegiate Institute Track fundraiser.

This annual event has been hosted since 1981, except for the two years missed during the pandemic.

Goderich Oldtimers look forward to welcoming everyone back for the 45th tournament next year.
