Donor plaques unveiled at Shakespeare Optimist Park

Residents who contributed to the construction of the paved walking trail at Shakespeare Optimist Park can now see their names permanently recognized at the park entrance.

The Shakespeare Optimist Club recently installed donor plaques near the entrance off Galt Street, recognizing individuals, families and businesses who helped fund the popular community project.

Donors are listed in gold, silver and bronze categories based on their level of support.

The project was undertaken as part of the Shakespeare Optimist Club's 50th anniversary celebrations. Club members wanted to create a lasting legacy project while recognizing the many community members who contributed to its success.

Since its completion, the paved walking trail has become a popular feature of the park, attracting regular use from residents of all ages.

Club members say they are grateful for the generosity shown by donors and hope the plaques serve as a lasting reminder of the community spirit that helped make the project possible.

The Optimist Club thanked everyone who contributed to the fundraising campaign and expressed hope that community pride and support for local projects will continue for many years to come.
