Anyone For Books offers a space to discover and reconnect with the joy of reading

After a rewarding career as a professor at Conestoga College, Dubravka Bright decided that retirement was the perfect time to turn a lifelong passion into something to share with others.

Anyone For Books is Bright’s newest venture, a business opening in Goderich. This new business offers a carefully curated selection of new and used books, along with book-themed gifts and merchandise for readers of all ages.

“Reading has always been an important part of my life, and opening Anyone For Books is the realisation of a dream that combines my love of books, learning and community,” shared Bright.

“What began as a personal hobby has grown into a bookstore where I hope people will feel welcome to browse, discover and reconnect with the joy of reading.”

Choosing Goderich to open a business was an easy decision for Bright, as she admires the community’s welcoming spirit and vibrant downtown.

Wanting to create a space that adds to the town’s unique character, Bright remains hopeful that Anyone For Books will give both residents and visitors another reason to explore, linger and enjoy everything Goderich has to offer.

“Whether someone is searching for a favourite author, looking for their next great read, or shopping for a unique gift for a fellow book lover, I hope they’ll find something special,” added Bright.

As someone who believes in lifelong learning and wellness, Bright is also excited to expand what the store offers soon.

Having recently become a certified yoga instructor, Bright will soon introduce yoga classes beginning in September.

“My vision is for Anyone For Books to become a place that nurtures both the mind and the body and is a welcoming space where people can enjoy the benefits of reading, mindfulness and movement,” Bright explained.

Plans for Anyone For Books also includes a variety of community events that bring people together through a shared love of books and learning including a book club, meet-the-local-author events, and wellness workshops.

“I want Anyone For Books to be more than a place to shop,” added Bright.

“I hope it becomes a gathering place where people can connect, discover new ideas, and build lasting friendships.”
